Green Corner - Turn Out Your Lights, Show Support

Earth Hour 2010 is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community to pledge support and turn off lights for one hour, Earth Hour, 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 27.

Earth Hour is a global World Wildlife Federation (WWF) climate change initiative. Last year, more than 80 million participants in the U.S. and nearly a billion people in 88 countries participated, with lights dimming on the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Opera House, the Great Pyramids and the Empire State Building.

WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the earth’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.
