Waste-Free Wednesdays

January 20th waste-free lunch stats. are as follows:

  • 135 students brought a waste-free lunch

  • Mrs. Schaubroeck's class had the most with 14 wfls

  • 62.5 pounds of garbage went to the dump

  • Conservation Kids of the Week were Ryan C. (Yelton) and Julian W. (Schaubroek)

January 27th waste-free lunch statistics:

  • 141 students brought a waste-free lunch

  • Winning classes were Schaubroeck (14), Valdez (14), and Weeks (13)

  • 42.3 pounds of garbage went to the dump

  • Conservation Kids of the Week were Eric E. (Witt), and Brian S. (Marianni)

Wednesday, Feb. 3rd. 2010
  • 123 students brought waste-free lunches
  • 35 pounds of garbage went to the dump
  • Mrs. Schaubroeck's class had 13 wfls, Mrs. Wenig a close second with 12, and Mrs. Weeks with 11
  • Conservation Kids of the Week are Frankie P. (Oliver) and Gavin H. (Janiga)

 *Apologies to Kyle S., a Conservation Kid name omitted from a previous Waste-free Wednesday.


Did you know.......

The new Goodwill store in the shopping center at North and Rte 83 (where Diplomat West is located) takes residential electronics (for free) for recycling any time at their donation drop off site which is next to the Goodwill Store, and clearly marked. They ask you to remove your hard drive. They accept during regular daily operations the following:

  • Computers
  • CPUs
  • Monitors
  • Keyboards
  • Radios
  • Microwaves
  • Laptops
  • Printers
  • Cell phones
  • UPS systems
  • PDUs
  • Fax machines
  • Phones
  • DVD players
  • VCRs stereo equipment

They WILL NOT accept any item containing liquids or refrigerants.
