Posted by Vanessa Cowhey on Sep 25, 2009

On Wednesday, October 7, Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 will host a Safety Summit for parents at York Community High School. Parents will have access to numerous safety professionals including representatives from Elmhurst Police and Fire Departments, Elmhurst Hospital, and various school social workers, counselors, and safety experts.
This event is part of the District’s School Safety Month and aims to provide our school community with important information about student safety, health and security. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. and last for two hours. Participants will start with a district-wide overview of safety and security and then will have an opportunity to select from a variety of smaller breakout sessions including topics such as internet safety, bike safety, emergencies, talking with small children about safety, illness and H1N1, bullying, and general school safety. Each of these sessions will include a brief presentation and an opportunity for questions and answers.
York Community High School is located at 355 W. St. Charles Road. For more information, please visit or call the communications office at 630-941-4719.
