Emerson Continues to Exceed District Projections

Posted by Vanessa Cowhey on Sep 10, 2009

At the Board of Education meeting on September 8, the administration of Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 shared updated student enrollment data collected from the first six days of school. The District enrollment has increased to 8,150 students, up from 8,011 at the same time last year. This represents a 1.74 percent increase from the 2008-09 school year and is consistent with current District enrollment projections.
The District bases its enrollment projections on data collected and analyzed by an outside consulting demographer, Dr. John D. Kasarda. The “Kasarda” report offers three different levels of enrollment projections: high, middle and low level forecasts. At this time, the District enrollment remains consistently at the middle projection level, with the exception of Emerson Elementary School which has continued to exceed all projections.
