President's message

Note from the President

Posted by Jana Krausfeldt on Sep 17, 2015

We had a great turn out at the first PTA Meeting and accomplished a lot. Thank you to everyone that attended!! Please look for the PTA meeting minutes on the Emerson PTA website early next week, if you would like to know what was discussed.

Thank you to Stephanie Wiecsorak, Laura Pishkur, Michelle Kamienski, Lisa Ruggieri, Alicia LaBelle, Carrie Greene, Kristie Szejner, and Nicole Glorioso for volunteering for Picture Day.  There will be more opportunities to volunteer in a few weeks for Emerson’s hearing and vision screening.

CALLING ALL AVID READERS

We are still looking for a volunteer to head up Junior Great books for the 2nd and 3rd graders. We would also need a couple volunteers to help run the program. Junior Great Books is best likened to a book club for kids. Each week the students reads a short story from their Great Books collection and meet to share ideas and thoughts about what they read, with the assistance of a trained parent volunteer who facilitates each session. So, if you love to read and your kids love to read this would be a great opportunity for you. Please email me at wintonms5@gmail.com if you are interested.
