Hat Day was a huge success!!! It was so fun seeing all the kids in their hats and the enthusiasm that was put forth for the new playground. The generosity of our Emerson Community is always so amazing!! Thank you to Kristie Sjezner for filling all of our open committee positions and thank you to Jana for keeping us all informed! 

Hope to see you all at the PTA Meeting, Tuesday, Septemeber 15th at 7:00 P.M. in the library!!! Your input is valued.  

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We still need 4 volunteers to help out with School Picture Day on Monday, September 14. The shifts that are available are: 9:45-11:05 and, 1:30-2:30. We need 2 for each shift. If you are available please contact me at wintonms5@gmail.com by this Friday.

September 23:  Superintendent Coffee 10:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Elementary - anyone from any school in our District is more than welcome and encouraged to attend!

September 28:  Presentation by Dr. Michael Thompson:  The Pressured Child:  Helping Your Child Find Success in School and in Life:  7:00-8:30 pm Sandburg Middle School Auditorium

October 1: District 205 Foundation Brings Harlem Wizards to Elmhurst 

Come out and see the Harlem Wizards vs. the District 205 All-Stars! The District 205 Foundation is bringing basketball sensations, the Harlem Wizards, to Elmhurst on Thursday, October 1st for an entertaining family fundraising event. Be entertained by the Wizards’ exhibition play, and cheer on our D205 All-Stars, a team of principals and teachers, as they play the Wizards in a fun, high-energy game that includes audience participation and lots of laughs! Doors to the York High School gym open at 6:00 pm and game time is 7:00 PM. Advanced general seating is $10, and reserved and courtside options are available. All proceeds benefit Foundation programs at Elmhurst Public Schools. Seating is limited, so check out the team roster and purchase your tickets now at www.elmhurst205.org/foundation.  MRS. WENIG will represent Emerson as one of the District 205 All-Stars and possibly Miss Quebbemann and Mrs. Cortez.
