Access Point Campaign

Posted by Jana Krausfeldt on Sep 3, 2013

This fall, the Emerson PTA is working to raise funds to bring additional Wireless Access Point (WAP) technology to Emerson School. An Access Point is a device that allows wireless technology (iPad, laptops, iPods) to connect to a wired network using WiFi.

Emerson continues to add technology on a yearly basis and without additional Access Points it cannot be used to its full capabilities. Currently, the number of Access Points that the school has cannot accommodate the amount of technology that we have to offer, this frequently delays how the teachers and students work, decreasing productivity.

Emerson needs 13 additional Access Points. Each Access Point costs approximately $530. In order to achieve our goal we need everyone’s support! We hope to get the new Access Points installed over winter break but in order to do so the campaign deadline needs to be October 4th.

Ways you can help support the Emerson Wireless Access Point Campaign:

  • Make a monetary donation anytime during our campaign - every dollar counts!
  • Encourage your kids to bring in loose change for Gum and Hat Day
  • Checks can be made payable to Emerson PTA and sent to school with your child in an envelope labeled Access Point Campaign.
