Emerson Jump Rope for Heart needs YOUR help!

Posted by Jana Krausfeldt on Mar 20, 2013

March 20 is Emerson School's Jump Rope for Heart event.  New this year, 2nd graders will be joining the 3rd to 5th graders for this event!

The goal is to raise money for the American Heart Association, and in doing so raise Emerson families' awareness of heart disease and stroke prevention.

The 2nd to 5th graders will participate in over an hour of jump roping, aerobic exercise, and healthy heart education during school on March 20.

Until March 20, the students can raise money by logging on to www.heart.org/school in order to send emails to adult family and friends. Emerson's goal is to send out 1500 emails and raise $10,000. More important than the money is to send out as many emails as possible to raise awareness.

PLEASE DO TWO THINGS TO HELP OUT:

1) Please help your student login regularly and send out as many emails as possible. You can track your child's and the school's progress on the site!  www.heart.org/school

2) Please volunteer for a 1.5 hour slot on March 20 to help in the gym as the students participate in Jump Rope for Heart.  Email me at gami.apoor@gmail.com if you can help out with any of the following times:

     8:30-9:45, 2nd grade

     9:50-11:00, 4th grade

     12:05-1:15, 3rd grade

     1:20-2:30, 5th grade
