2011 Reflections Art Appreciation Program

Emerson had a stellar turn-out for this year’s Reflections program! There were a total of 85 projects submitted by 76 students. We had the most entries from any Elmhurst school, so nice job! Mrs. Wenig’s class had the most total entries and Mrs. Valdez’s class had the most entries move onto the District level. Both classes will receive a popcorn party to celebrate their hard work. Click here to see a list of all Emerson participants.

Of the 85 projects submitted, 18 were selected to go to the District level for judging and 10 of those were selected to be judged at the Regional level – Emerson has some really talented students! For those selected to go to the District level and beyond, a simple reception was held at York High school that included the 165 student participants and their families from all Elmhurst schools.  We should all be extremely proud of our Emerson students!

Throughout the month of January, all Emerson projects will be displayed by grade in the hallway near the front of the school (projects will be distributed back to the children after this). Additionally, there will be a pizza party for all participants in January or February where certificates of achievement will be handed out. Please stay tuned for more details.
