Charitable Committee Introduces Operation Emerson

Posted by Joan Letourneau on Apr 4, 2011

Operation Emerson is a new program created by the Emerson Charitable Committee to help in times of natural disaster or crisis. Operation Emerson will teach students about ways to help kids around the world after these disasters, helping them feel more powerful and connected to the rest of the world.

From April 4-15, Operation Emerson is collecting donations to help Japan, which was rocked by an earthquake followed by a tsunami that wiped out communities more than eight miles inland. Kids in Japan had to leave their homes with only the clothes on their backs and many lost everything – family members, their homes, their schools, their entire towns.
