Community Members Sought for EEPRT Ranking Committee

Posted by Joan Letourneau on Oct 16, 2010

District 205 currently is seeking parents and community members to serve on a 27-member Ranking Committee as part of the Elmhurst Educational Program Review Technique (EEPRT) process. Thirteen members of the committee will represent the 13 schools in District 205, while 14 members will be at-large community representatives.

The purpose of the EEPRT process is to determine the value of 29 educational and operational programs in relation to both their measurable value and cost. Last year, the District 205 Board of Education cut approximately $2.8 million from the 2010-2011 budget. It is estimated that another $3 million to $5 million will need to be cut from the 2011-2012 budget to avoid deficit spending. The results of the EEPRT process will provide the Board of Education with the program evaluation and financial information necessary to set educational priorities.

There are 22 educational and seven operational review committees that are comprised of District 205 staff members.
Click here for a full listing of the committees and their facilitators. A report will be generated by each committee that will include program outcomes, program data and activities, program evaluation, and program expenditures. Each program will then be ranked by committees comprised of District 205 administrators, parents and community members. These rankings will help guide the Board’s future funding decisions.

The EEPRT Ranking Committee is a 13-hour time commitment that will include attendance at four meetings to be held:

  • Tuesday, January 4 from 5:00-8:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 5 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 12 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, January 13 from 5:00-8:30 p.m.
