District PTA Council's SERG Presents Literacy Program

“Working the Five Components of Literacy with Struggling Readers” will be presented from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 in the Conrad Fischer Elementary School library. The speaker for this program is Tina Cerney, instructional and behavioral analyst with SASED’s Instructional Support Team. This is a free event, and anyone can attend.

This program will discuss the five big areas of reading (phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension) and will cover the following topics:

  • How and when these areas are taught.
  • Strategies that support the reading curriculum.
  • How parents can support their child in learning to read.
