PTA Seeking Volunteers for 2015-2016

A BIG thank you to each of the parents in the Emerson School community who have committed to continue serving in their current PTA roles for the 2015-16 school year!  There are many opportunities to get involved in next year.  We need your help to fill key committee roles such as: Go Green!, Emerson Spirit-wear, Jr. Great Books, Jr. Achievement, Assemblies, Outdoor Beautification, Publicity, Reflections, Read to Succeed and many more. Please consider your talents and time available to help bring these PTA programs to our students next year. If there is no one who volunteers to coordinate these programs, they simply will not be offered.

We are also looking for representatives for the following district 205 sponsored positions:

Safe Routes to School (SRTS)

REACH PTA

PTA Council Scholarship

If you would like to volunteer for the 2015-2016 school year or would like a more detailed description of what some of these positions entail, please contact Lisa Ruggieri at lisa.ruggieri@yahoo.com.

The Empowerment Project

Zen Parenting Radio (with the support of Comprehensive Clinical Services) is bringing The Empowerment Project Documentary to York Theater on Monday, May 18th at 7 pm.

This new documentary spotlighting ordinary women doing extraordinary things inspires students to dream big! The movie is 60 minutes long, and we will facilitate a short discussion following the movie.

This movie is recommended for adults & kids 9 and up - it’s a perfect date night with your daughter (or son!) The message is valuable to everyone. Click here to see the movie trailer.

You can click here to purchase tickets in advance.

SERG Presentation

The SERG PTA will host a presentation, Improving Your Child’s Health through Nutrition, by Elizabeth Zinsmeister, a Licensed Dietician Nutritionist at Nutritional Concepts. Save the Date! EIMB is hosting a fundraiser at Potbelly

Calling all band, orchestra and choir families, their supporters and lovers of good sandwiches. Elmhurst Instrumental Music Boosters is hosting a fundraiser at the Elmhurst Potbelly on St. Charles and 83 on Wednesday, May 27th from 4-8pm. No need to bring a flyer, just show up and enjoy. As our main fundraiser of Market Day has dwindled, these small events are even more critical to helping us continue to fund merit scholarships and financial assistance in Elmhurst.
