Emerson PTA News & Reminders

PBIS Celebration Tomorrow

Our students have almost earned their PBIS Celebration for the month of April!  We expect that they will have earned it and the celebration will occur at the end of the day THIS FRIDAY. All students will be outside jumping rope at the end of the day. Here is where you can meet your children if you normally pick them up.

  • Janiga, 3rd grade and kindergarten by circle drive - 3rd front playground area, Janiga front sidewalk
  • Witt, Herman, 2nd and 4th on recess playground blacktop/grass
  • 5th grade back patio and sidewalk by the outdoor classroom

All children may keep their jump ropes that were given to our students by the American Heart Association for our excellent participation this year.

Teacher Appreciation Week Next Week!

May 4th – May 8th

Letters were sent home in each child’s home folder providing details of the few things we are still in need of to make our Teachers feel extra special during this week and we need your help.

  • We would love to have each child write a letter to their teacher, in their words, to thank them for the work they do and what it means to them.
  • Monetary donations to assist with the costs for lunch and wish list items are gratefully accepted and may be sent to school in an envelope addressed to Mrs. Holler for collection.

Zen Parenting Radio (with the support of Comprehensive Clinical Services) is bringing The Empowerment Project Documentary to York Theater on Monday, May 18th at 7 pm.

This new documentary spotlighting ordinary women doing extraordinary things inspires students to dream big! The movie is 60 minutes long, and we will facilitate a short discussion following the movie.

This movie is recommended for adults & kids 9 and up - it’s a perfect date night with your daughter (or son!) The message is valuable to everyone. Click here to see the movie trailer.

A BIG thank you to each of the parents in the Emerson School community who have committed to continue serving in their current PTA roles for the 2015-16 school year!  There are many opportunities to get involved in next year.  We need your help to fill key roles such as: School Supply Boxes, Go Green!, Emerson Spirit-wear, Opening Day Coffee, Jr. Great Books, Running Club, Assemblies, Book Fair, Opening Day coffee, Library resource and many more.  Please consider your talents and time available to help bring these PTA programs to our students next year.  If there is no one who volunteers to coordinate these programs, they simply will not be offered.
